Holiday Dressing

I absolutely love the holiday season. It’s the perfect time of year in my eyes. What’s not to like? Bing Crosby, Christmas lights, festive cups at Starbucks, I could go on for ages. Another reason it’s one of my favorite seasons is because of how often I actually get to dress up! In my day to day life, party dresses aren’t usually an appropriate choice, but the holiday season comes chock full of chances to bring out fun dresses, sparkly jewelry, and fancy tights, alongside comfy sweaters, toasty boots, and cozy socks.  So here are some of my favorite clothes to wear this holiday season, whether you’re going out to a holiday party, or enjoying some quality time with your bed and tv at home.

Going Out: Let’s face it: it’s cold in December, and sometimes you’re going to want to wear long sleeves, tights, and probably a coat. Fortunately, there are plenty of options for fancy clothes so that don’t require you to absolutely freeze yourself in order to dress up. Here are some of my favorites along with a few shoes and accessories that I’ve been lusting after myself.

Shoes and Accessories: I’ll confess, I’m a sucker for jewelry and shoes. I really do think that they can make or break an outfit, and they’re always so much fun to shop for. Around the holidays, I like to rock some cool tights with shorts and dresses and throw on sparkly jewelry everywhere (because this is one time of year where it’s acceptable!).

But more importantly for me, at the holidays it’s all about being home. I love being able to laze around in my comfiest clothes all day long, reading, admiring my work on our Christmas tree, and watching Christmas movies that I’m really too old to be enjoying to such an enormous degree  (*cough* “A Charlie Brown Christmas”* cough*). I’m all about snuggling up in comfy sweaters, soft leggings, cozy socks and toasty boots in the winter, so here are some picks that I’m hoping Santa might help me out with this year.
